Court Orders Quavo to Pay $682K to Las Vegas Valet After a Slap

A famous rapper who was in a physical altercation with a valet in Las Vegas was recently ordered to pay a hefty sum as compensatory and punitive damages.

Physical Altercation Results in Lawsuit

The case involves Quavious “Quavo” Marshall, a famous American rapper who visited Encore Hotel and Casino in Sin City back in 2018. At the time, he was given a citation by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department after the rapper slapped a valet at the popular hotel and casino resort.

However, the valet, who was identified with the initials A.H., argued that he was injured both physically and emotionally by Quavo. As a result, the former hotel casino valet filed a lawsuit against the rapper due to the incident. The culmination of the lawsuit came earlier this week, after a multiweek trial.

As announced by KLAS, a jury ordered Quavo to pay the former Encore Hotel and Casino employee a sum close to $700,000 due to the slap in 2018. The defense of the famous rapper argued that A.H. wasn’t injured in any way by the popular rapper.

Moreover, the attorney representing Quavo claimed that the former valet wanted a “hip-hop lotto ticket.” This otherwise referred to a hefty settlement that the rapper may have to pay due to the incident.

However, the jury disagreed with the defense. As a result, Quavo was ordered to pay the victim $682,000 in compensatory and punitive damages.

Quavo Helped Form a Trio Called Migos

Besides being a rapper, Quavo is popular as a songwriter, record producer and music video director. His net worth as of 2024 is estimated at $28 million.

Quavo is mostly recognized for his participation in Migos, a popular hip-hop trio that consisted of him, Offset and Takeoff. The trio had released several albums and hit $25 million in earnings between 2017 and 2018.

Sadly, one of the members of Migos, Takeoff, was shot fatally in Texas back in 2022. At the time, Takeoff was together with Offset and Quavo at a bowling alley and allegedly engaged in a dice game. While Quavo wasn’t shot during the incident, Takeoff was fatally injured.
