Both teams have been (some would say) unexpectedly impressive in the 2024 NFL. The Minnesota Vikings are 12-2 and are in contention for both the No. 1 seed in the NFC and the divisional title in NFC North. With an 8-6 record, the Seahawks are competing for the NFC West title.

Minnesota Vikings Wanna Keep on Winning
They started the 2024 season with five straight wins but then lost two games in a row. This made some pundits think their campaign would result in a proverbial car crash. But no, instead of entering a rough patch, they bounced back and won the next seven games.
Can they add an 8th win to the list? Bookmakers think so. They see the Vikings as a 3-point favorite to win on Sunday. What’s interesting is when Week 16 betting markets opened, the Vikings were 1.5-point favorites.
So, what’s happened since? Well, bettors have started pouring more money on Minnesota, which isn’t surprising given the Vikings’ recent run. Another reason is that the Seattle Seahawks are coming off the back of a big loss on home turf.
Can the Seattle Seahawks Bounce Back from the Packers Loss?
Last weekend, the Seattle Seahawks’ four-game winning run was ended by the Green Bay Packers. They came to Lumen Park determined to destroy the hosts, and they succeeded in their intention. The Seahawks had no answer to the Packers’ offensive game plan.
What’s surprising is that they didn’t do much better on the offense either. Starting quarterback Geno Smith had no touchdown passes and one of his throws got intercepted.
He then suffered a knee injury and was replaced by Sam Howell, who did even worse than him. Only five of Howell’s 14 pass attempts were successful and one of those got intercepted.
Minnesota Vikings vs. Seattle Seahawks Week 16 Prediction
Geno Smith might not be the best quarterback in the league, but he’s been one of Seattle’s key men in 2024. Without him, they’re guaranteed to struggle to score.
Their defense is okay, but we don’t think they’re good enough to stop Sam Darnold & Co., whose scoring average in the last three games is 31.7.
For all these reasons, not only do we think the Vikings will win on December 22, but they’re going to cover the 3-point spread.
Pick: Minnesota Vikings -3
