Philadelphia Casino Shooter Still on the Run

A recent shooting near a Philadelphia casino left one man critically injured. The police continue searching for the perpetrator.

The Man Sustained Multiple Shots in the Legs

The Rivers Casino in Philadelphia recently became the site of a shooting in which one man was badly hurt. The incident took place on Thursday but, as of Friday, the culprit had yet to be apprehended.

According to the available information, the victim was a 37-year-old man who was shot in the casino’s parking lot shortly after noon. He sustained multiple wounds in the legs and was severely hurt. The gunshots were heard by onlookers who called the authorities. The victim was soon rushed to Jefferson Hospital.

In the meantime, the shooter managed to escape. After examining footage from the crime scene, authorities determined that the perpetrator had escaped the scene in a car.

Locals were uneasy in the wake of the shooting, with one casino goer telling a local news outlet that they no longer felt safe in the area. The person said that they feel like they have to watch their back wherever they go and added that they hope the shooting victim will be okay.

One online commenter claiming to be a close friend of the victim said on Friday that the 37-year-old was in stable condition thanks to the medical attention he was given.

Gun Crime Is a Persistent Problem

The shooting echoes another recent incident that claimed the life of one person. On Saturday morning, two days after the incident in Philadelphia, the police in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, responded to a call for an armed man at the Hollywood Casino & Hotel Lawrenceburg.

The authorities learned that a man had chased a woman at the casino with a knife, threatening to hurt her. He later threatened a man who tried to defuse the situation and later retreated to the fourth floor where he fired a gun.

When the authorities arrived, officers confronted the man in the hallway and asked him to drop the gun. Instead, the man reportedly fired and was, in turn, shot down by the officers. He died at the scene.

The investigation continues. Business at the property, meanwhile, was temporarily reorganized, with guests relocated away from the scene of the shooting. Things have since returned to normalcy.

In the meantime, Jake E. Lee, a former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist, was recently shot in Las Vegas, despite the efforts to enforce order in Sin City. Luckily, the man’s injuries appeared to be non-threatening, with doctors expecting him to make a full recovery.
